ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The University of Rochester has reached a multi-million dollar settlement in federal court with former faculty and students who sued the university over its handling of sexual harassment complaints.

Under the settlement, the U of R will pay the plaintiffs a total of $9.4 million.

The lawsuit was brought by nine former professors and students in 2017, accusing the university of discrimination, retaliation and defamation stemming from how it handled complaints of Professor Florian Jaeger’s alleged sexual harassment of students.
