Senior Associate

Zachary McConnell is a senior associate in the US team at McAllister Olivarius. He brings significant experience of complex litigation, internal investigations, and international arbitration.

Before joining the firm, Zachary was legal counsel to Binance, the largest bitcoin exchange and altcoin crypto exchange in the world by volume, where he managed all litigation in the United States, Canada, and the Cayman Islands relating to Binance and its various subsidiaries, including Trust Wallet and CoinMarketCap. He was additionally responsible for overseeing internal investigations in response to US regulators.

Zachary began his career in the Pittsburgh office of Jones Day, where he split his practice between civil defense litigation and international arbitration.  As an associate in the firm’s Business and Tort Litigation Practice Group, he worked on cases covering the banking, insurance, and technology sectors.  Zachary was also a member of the Global Disputes Practice Group, and he has successfully represented claimants in several high-profile investor-state arbitrations. 

While in law school, Zachary clerked for the Honorable Justice Max Baer, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in History (Non-Western) and Music (Classical Guitar) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D., magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as the Senior Topics Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
