Tom is an experienced law reform specialist with a particular focus on issues that disproportionately affect women and girls, including human trafficking, the commercial sex trade, and wider issues of gender inequality. He has extensive experience working and advising on cases in the First-Tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support), Magistrates’ Court, High Court, Court of Appeal (Criminal, Civil, and Family Divisions), and most recently the European Court of Human Rights.

He has also worked alongside Government departments – most recently advising on and drafting legislative amendments for the Nationality and Borders Bill – and NGOs, as well as intergovernmental organisations including the United Nations, the Law Commission, and the Home Office. He is a three-time law school scholar, graduating first in his year from law school (LLM Human Rights Law with Distinction), and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2021.
