Professors could face the sack for having intimate relationships under plans to tackle sexual harassment on campus.

Oxford is considering plans to ban romantic and sexual contact between academics and students. Any don found flouting the policy — which would apply to any academic directly teaching or supervising a student — could face sanctions ranging from a formal warning to dismissal. Similar bans are in place at Ivy league universities in America such as Princeton, Harvard and Yale.
