We specialise in claims against
Workplace Injury
Nearly half a million people are injured at work in the UK every year. The physical, emotional and financial difficulties resulting from these injuries can be devastating.
Seeking compensation from your employer may seem daunting, but it should not affect your employment rights. Our personal injury and employment lawyers work closely on all matters and can help advise you on any discrimination or retaliation you may face in connection with your claim.
We have helped clients win substantial settlements for a wide range of workplace accidents and injuries caused by a dangerous working environment. We work closely with victims of workplace injury to ensure they receive the maximum amount of compensation possible, and are given support, treatment, and rehabilitation to help them return to the workplace with confidence.
Road Traffic Accidents
Road traffic accidents can have serious and lasting effects, from physical injury to mental and emotional distress. If you have been involved in a road traffic accident and it was not your fault you may be entitled to compensation.
Our personal injury lawyers help a wide range of road traffic victims, including drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, and those injured in e-scooter accidents. No matter how serious your injury, we can work quickly to ensure you get the compensation and support you are entitled to receive.
We will investigate the circumstances surrounding your claim, including the medical and financial impact the accident has had on your life. We can also help you to secure early payments to cover urgent expenses incurred because of your accident, while working to ensure you receive the maximum compensation available.
Public Accidents
Public spaces – from pavements to parks, supermarkets and other areas that are open to visitors – should be safe and well maintained. The owner of the public space, whether it is a business or local authority, has a duty of care to ensure that any potential hazards are promptly removed, cordoned off or signposted. If they fail to do so and you are injured as a result you may be entitled to receive compensation.
If you have suffered an accident in a public space, you may be entitled to receive compensation. Our personal injury lawyers will help to establish whether your accident was the result of a breach of duty of care and will work with you to help build a case. This can involve interviewing witnesses, examining maintenance records, or speaking to medical experts about the injuries you have sustained. Once we have done so, we will negotiate with those responsible to help you reach a settlement that can help you recover from the accident you sustained.
FAQs
How much compensation will I receive?
You can claim compensation for two types of harm: the injuries you have suffered and the losses you have incurred as a result of these injuries. Compensation may be awarded for physical, psychological and emotional suffering, including the suffering your family may have experienced as a result of your injury. The amount of compensation you may be entitled to receive for your injuries is likely to be based on the Judicial College Guidelines for Personal Injury Compensation. However, each case is unique, and the court will take your personal circumstances into account. You may also be able to claim for loss of income, medical expenses, or other costs incurred because of your injury, and for the disruption caused to your enjoyment of life (“loss of amenity”).
What is the time limit for submitting a claim?
Generally, claims need to be submitted three years after you were injured or became aware of your injuries. For example, if you break your leg at work and your employer is at fault, you will need to submit a claim within three years of the accident, while if you develop breathing difficulties because of an unsafe working environment, you will need to submit your claim within three years of diagnosis. If you sustained your injury before the age of 18 you have until your 21st birthday to start court proceedings.
How much will it cost me to bring a claim?
If your injury was someone else’s fault and we believe you are entitled to compensation, we will handle your case on a no-win, no-fee basis. This means that if we are successful, our fees will be paid by the other side, along with court fees and other expenses associated with your case. We will also secure insurance for you, so that if you lose your claim you are protected from having to pay the costs the defendants have incurred.
How can I prove that my injury was someone else’s fault?
It is important to document as many details as possible so that we can prove your injuries were sustained because of someone else’s negligence. This includes noting down the time and place of your injury, details of what happened and who was involved, and any witnesses who may be able to provide evidence in support of your claims. These witnesses can be particularly important in helping us to prove fault, so it is important to act promptly.
