McAllister Olivarius Names Elizabeth Abdnour as Of Counsel

NEW YORK (February 16, 2023) – International law firm McAllister Olivarius is pleased to announce that Michigan-based attorney Elizabeth Abdnour has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Her practice will focus on cases covering civil rights, employment, education, disability, and sexual and domestic violence.

Abdnour is an experienced advocate committed to justice for all people. She has worked as a legal services attorney, representing low-income clients in various civil legal matters. She also served as the supervising attorney of a domestic violence and protection order clinic operated by a legal aid organization and a law school. She later transitioned to work as civil rights and Title IX investigator at Michigan State University during the Larry Nassar investigation.

In 2018, she launched her own firm, Elizabeth Abdnour Law, to fight for justice on behalf of clients at school and in the workplace. Her combined legal, investigative, and administrative experience gives her a significant understanding of employers’ and educational institutions’ obligations with respect to the civil rights of their stakeholders.

“Elizabeth is an excellent attorney who has successfully represented people who have been discriminated against or harassed against employers and educational institutions that allowed such behavior to occur,” said Jef McAllister, Managing Partner of McAllister Olivarius. “We are thrilled to have an attorney of Elizabeth’s caliber join our team.”

Abdnour currently sits on the board of The Firecracker Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to honoring the bravery of children who have survived sexual trauma through the use of healing services. She also sits on the board of MI AECRES, a group of attorneys providing free or low-cost non-legal advocacy and legal representation to students to protect and enforce their education rights.

“I am honored to join McAllister Olivarius,” stated Ms. Abdnour. “I am eager to work alongside such proven advocates to seek justice and equality for those who have been deprived of it.”

Elizabeth Abdnour is licensed in both Michigan and Ohio as well as various federal district and appellate courts. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
